Ramallah – Ma’an – The Turkish government decided to raise the quota for exempting Palestinian dates from customs in the Turkish market from 3,000 tons to 5,000 tons annually.

The decision comes in response to the Palestinian request to raise the quota of Palestinian dates exempt from customs, and to facilitate the entry of customs-free Palestinian agricultural products into Turkish markets.

In a phone call with Turkish Trade Minister Omar Bolat, Minister of Economy Muhammad Al-Amour welcomed the decision, which strengthens the steadfastness of Palestinian farmers in particular, and expressed his thanks to Turkey, the president, government and people, for all aspects of the continued support that Turkey provides to the Palestinian people, politically and economically, and the relief it provides to our people. The two ministers stressed that diligent efforts will be made to strengthen cooperation, economic and trade relations between the two countries, within mechanisms that contribute to
raising the volume of trade exchange, in line with the distinguished political relationship between the two countries, and there will be fruitful meetings between the two parties soon.

The Minister appreciated the efforts of the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Turkey, Faed Mustafa, the embassy staff, and all the partners who contributed to the completion of this decision, in addition to the efforts of the specialized ministries: National Economy, Agriculture, and partners from the Turkish side.
