Turkish President sends his condolences to President Abbas for the victims of the Jabalia fire tragedy

RAMALLAH, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan today cabled President Mahmoud Abbas expressing his condolences for the death of 21 Palestinians in the fire that broke out in a house in Jabalia refugee camp on Thursday.

“It is with deep regret that I learned that a fire broke out in a building in the Jabalia refugee camp in Gaza on the night of November 17 and that many people, including women and children, lost their lives and that there were some injured,” said Erdogan in the cable.

He asked President Abbas to “convey my sincerest condolences to the brotherly Palestinian people,” adding, “The Turkish people wholeheartedly share the pain of their Palestinian brothers on this day of mourning.”

The Turkish President also expressed his “most heartfelt wishes for the health and happiness” of President Abbas and for “the peace and prosperity of the friendly and brotherly Palestinian people.”
