Twelve deaths due to coronavirus in Palestine and 2083 new cases recorded in the last 24 hours

RAMALLAH, Coronavirus claimed the life of 12 people in the West Bank and Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours while 2083 new cases were recorded and 2675 patients recovered, today said Minister of Health Mai Alkaila.

She said in her daily report on the pandemic in Palestine that four people died in the West Bank and 549 new cases were recorded, while 917 patients have recovered.

The Gaza Strip recorded eight deaths, 1534 new cases, and 1758 recoveries.

Alkaila said 205 people are getting treatment for the coronavirus in hospitals and 72 are in intensive care while 14 are on ventilators.

With the latest data, a total of 91.8 percent of the people infected with coronavirus since the outbreak of the virus in Palestine in March of last year have recovered, 7.2 percent remain active and 1 percent have died.

A total of 1,347,092 people have been vaccinated against coronavirus in the West Bank (54.3% of the qualified) and Gaza Strip (31.4%), and 654,315 got a second dose.
