Manama: Felipe Paullier, Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs and Head of the United Nations Youth Office, highlighted the global momentum in youth empowerment, which necessitates maximising cooperation and collective efforts.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Paullier stated that the launch of the Hope Network provided a valuable platform for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and forging impactful partnerships aimed at advancing youth engagement worldwide.
Speaking at a gathering for Hope Network members, Paullier extended his gratitude to Bahrain for its significant role in hosting the initiative, expressing optimism about the enduring positive impact that the Hope Network could foster. He described the platform as an opportunity to unite stakeholders around shared goals and visions, enhancing collective efforts to support youth.
Reflecting on his role, Paullier shared that since assuming the position of Assistant Secretary-General nearly a year ago, he has remained optimistic about strengthenin
g youth representation within the United Nations framework. The establishment of the UN Youth Office, he noted, is a pivotal step toward integrating youth voices into decision-making processes across all levels, thereby ensuring that policies reflect young people’s perspectives and needs.
Paullier further emphasised that his mission extends beyond advocacy to include actively empowering youth, fostering their participation across sectors, and amplifying their voices in policy formulation.
