Weather forecast: High heat stress continues to prevail

RAMALLAH, Weather today is hot to very hot in all districts in daytime and mild in the mountains and relatively hot in other districts in nighttime with a slight drop of temperature, which approaches 6°C above the seasonal average, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Light to moderate northeasterly to northwesterly wind blows. Sea waves are low.

Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 36°C and a low of 23°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 34°C and a low of 22°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 45°C and a low of 29°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 32°C and a low of 25°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

Wednesday’s temperature is set to further slightly drop, yet hot to very hot conditions prevail in daytime and mild in nighttime, especially in the mountains.

Thursday’s temperature is set to remain steady with mostly clear and hot conditions in most districts and very hot conditions in the Jordan Valley in daytime. Mild conditions are expected in nighttime, particularly in the mountains.

An additional drop of temperature is anticipated on Friday, reaching 2°C above the seasonal average and causing a relief in the heat stress.

PMD warns people against direct exposure to the sun for long period, especially from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and setting fire to dry grassy areas.
