Muscat: WhatsApp is testing a new parental control feature for iPhones that allows parents to link their accounts to those of their young children and teenagers, and manage several account settings directly from the app. According to Oman News Agency, the feature, called "parent-managed accounts," enables parents to connect their account to their child's account using a QR code and then enter the child's date of birth. This setup allows parents to specify which features will be restricted, with these restrictions automatically lifting when the child turns 18. The feature offers tools to control who can communicate with the child, manage communication requests and group joining, and adjust privacy settings. These settings include specifying who can see the child's profile picture, identifying information, and online status.
