Muscat: At least 11 people were killed and dozens wounded in a drone attack on a market in North Kordofan state in central Sudan, media reports said. No party to Sudan's conflict has claimed responsibility for the strike.
According to Oman News Agency, drone attacks have intensified across the country in recent months. UN estimates show at least 880 civilians have been killed in such strikes in Sudan from the start of 2026 through April. The armed conflict in Sudan has left tens of thousands dead, displaced millions inside and outside the country, and worsened famine conditions in parts of Darfur and Kordofan.
