The Ministry of Interior has extended the period for submitting applications for registering fresh voters or transferring the electoral files of existing voters wishing to elect members for the Shura Council's 10th Term. The deadline of the same has been extended to Thursday, 14 September 2023.

Applications to this effect can be filed via “Intikhab” app or the elections’ website (elections.om), depending on the permanent or current address noted on an applicant’s ID card.

The ministry alerted the citizens about the importance of verifying the status of their registration in the electoral register. This, the ministry said, can be done through “Intikhab” app or the elections’ website as stated in Article (18) of the Law on Election of Members of the Shura Council, promulgated by Royal Decree No. 54/2023.
