Jordan's King Abdullah II reiterated today the call for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the imperative to halt the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding there and to facilitate relief efforts without hindrance. During a meeting with Italian President Sergio Mattarella in Rome, the Jordanian monarch affirmed that "there can be no peace or stability in the region without a just solution to the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution." He expressed appreciation for Italy's support for the two-state solution and warned of the repercussions of a potential Israeli ground offensive on Rafah.
