His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik hosted an official dinner at Al Alam Palace guesthouse this evening in honour of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria. Prior to the dinner, His Majesty the Sultan and President Tebboune exchanged commemorative gifts on the occasion of the Algerian President's visit to the Sultanate of Oman. His Majesty the Sultan conferred "Al Said Order", Oman's most lofty accolade, on President Tebboune, in commendation for the President and in manifestation of the deep-rooted fraternal relations binding the two countries and their peoples. On his turn, President Tebboune awarded His Majesty the Sultan the National Order of Merit 'Athir' Algeria's most magnificent decoration. His Majesty the Sultan also presented the Algerian President with a commemorative gift, which was an Omani dagger. Meanwhile, President Tebboune presented an Algerian Sword as a gift for His Majesty. The dinner was attended by some members of the Royal Family, ministers , chairmen of the State Council and Shura Council, commanders of the Sultan's Armed Forces and the Royal Oman Police, undersecretaries, ambassadors at the Foreign Ministry and some CEOs.
