Davos: The Sultanate of Oman is set to participate in the annual meetings of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in 'Davos 2025', which will be held in Switzerland from January 20 to 24. This significant international economic event will see the gathering of government leaders, entrepreneurs, academics, and civil society representatives, all aiming to discuss global challenges and devise solutions for sustainable growth.
According to Oman News Agency, the forum is a platform for fostering innovative visions that support the transition towards more sustainable and equitable economies. It places a special focus on future challenges, including climate change, technological advancement, and social equality. The WEF aims to enhance communication and cooperation among governments, companies, academic bodies, and community institutions to achieve shared objectives.
The 2025 meetings of WEF will concentrate on five key topics: developing a green economy to advance sustainable development and decrease carbon emissions, supporting eco-friendly innovations using modern technologies, transitioning to green energy to reduce reliance on traditional energy sources, achieving sustainable economic growth that benefits communities and preserves natural resources, and researching the impact of technology, artificial intelligence, the 'Internet of Things', health technologies, regulatory technologies, and financial technologies on various economic sectors.
The Sultanate of Oman will be represented by a delegation led by Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy, and will include representatives from both the public and private sectors.
