Oman Celebrates World Creativity and Innovation Day with New Initiatives

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman today joined the international community in celebrating World Creativity and Innovation Day, which is observed annually on 21 April. Oman's engagement in this event underscores its commitment to fostering a culture of innovation within state institutions, aligning with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.

According to Oman News Agency, the Ministry of Labour in Muscat Governorate organized a celebration under the patronage of Sayyid Salim Musallam Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour for Human Resources Development. During the event, the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit announced the launch of two national initiatives: "National Competencies in Corporate Innovation" and "Certified Innovation Professional." These initiatives aim to enhance the capabilities of Omani professionals in the innovation sector and to develop institutional capabilities to adapt to future changes and boost government competitiveness.

The ceremony featured a visual presentation titled "Institutional Innovation and the Management of Change," showcasing current trends and practices that support innovation in government work environments. Additionally, a dialogue session called "Institutional Innovation: The Path to Sustainable Government Excellence" was held, involving stakeholders and specialists who discussed strategies to enhance institutional innovation and explored opportunities for improving government performance.

The event served as a platform to emphasize the importance of investing in human capital and building a comprehensive national system that transforms ideas into sustainable solutions, contributing to the country's development goals. Government officials, specialists, and other parties interested in innovation and institutional development attended the celebration.
