Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Rwanda today signed four agreements and cooperation programs aimed at consolidating the two countries' partnership and expanding areas of collaboration in logistics, dry ports, supply chains, data centers, cloud computing, infrastructure, and artificial intelligence (AI) projects and services. According to Oman News Agency, the first agreement includes a cooperation program focusing on logistical services and the operation of dry ports and services related to supply chains. This initiative aims to support logistical integration and facilitate the exchange of expertise in this crucial sector. The second agreement seeks to enhance cooperation in data centers, cloud computing, infrastructure, and AI projects and services. It focuses on building capacities, exchanging expertise, and supporting the development of relevant policies and legislation. The third agreement involves Oman Air launching direct flights between Muscat and Kigali. This development aims t o facilitate travel, support trade and tourism, and strengthen relations between Oman and the African continent. The program will commence with two weekly flights starting in June 2026. The fourth agreement is a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) and Oman Airports Company. The MoU is designed to enhance cooperation in airport development and management, exchange expertise, and explore opportunities for joint investment in the aviation sector and related infrastructure. Eng. Said bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, emphasized that the agreements align with strategic objectives to expand international partnerships in transport, logistics, communications, and information technology sectors. The focus is on broadening economic activities into East Africa. The minister highlighted that these agreements reflect the strong bonds between Oman and Rwanda, demonstrating both countries' commitment to expanding economic a nd technical cooperation, enhancing sustainable development, supporting regional integration, and contributing to the partnership between the Middle East and Africa in priority sectors.
