15th GCC Conference on Human Resources Productivity Begins in Salalah

Muscat: The 15th GCC Conference on Developing Human Resources Productivity opened today at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah. The two-day event is graced by HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar.

According to Oman News Agency, Naif bin Hamid Bait Fadhil, a member of the conference's organizing committee, emphasized that the theme "Quality of Working Life: Towards a Stimulating Work Environment, Sustainable Productivity" aligns with a modern global trend. This perspective suggests that productivity should be assessed not just by output volume but also by how institutions nurture a positive work culture, humane leadership, and an environment conducive to innovation and sustainability.

Bait Fadhil highlighted that institutions investing in work-life quality experience greater productivity, increased innovation, and reduced employee turnover and burnout. These organizations are more successful in attracting and retaining talent, which positively impacts national economic growth.

The conference aims to address the fast-evolving business landscape by fostering more competitive and sustainable institutions. It will explore transitioning to smart work environments, assessing productivity indicators, and emphasizing human leadership and mental health as crucial to sustainable productivity.

Organized by Alassayel Company for Conferences, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, the Office of the Governor of Dhofar, and the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Dhofar branch, the conference is strategically partnered with OQ Basic Industries. It seeks to chart a practical course for integrating job well-being with productivity and envisioning future work environments amid the global digital shift.

The conference covers various themes, including transitioning from traditional to smart work environments, evaluating key work environment indicators, and emphasizing the role of humane leadership, mental health, and job well-being in promoting sustainable productivity.
