Oman Environmental Services Holding Company “be’ah” today signed an agreement with Oman SATS company to treat industrial and hazardous waste.

This agreement is part of the government’s efforts to preserve a safe, sustainable environment in accordance with international standards and regulations.

The agreement was signed by Engineer Abdul Kareem Qasim Al Balushi, the COO of Hazardous Waste Operations at be’ah and Siang Tang Tan, CEO of Oman SATS.

Eng. Abdul Kareem said, “Together, we will adopt sustainable and eco-friendly practices to ensure the safe and proper disposal of industrial and hazardous waste in alignment with Oman’s National Waste Management Strategy.”

He also pointed out that this agreement, along with related initiatives, reflects “be’ah’s” concrete endeavors to align with Oman Vision 2040, emphasizing sustainability and a competitive circular economy.

On his part, Siang Tang Tan added that, “Environmental preservation is a cornerstone of sustainability that we aim to uphold in all our operations. We seek to reduce the negative environmental impacts of our operations by following the best local and international practices in industrial and hazardous waste management. We are pleased to sign this agreement with ‘be’ah,’ which will undoubtedly help translate our vision of environmental preservation into action.”

It is worth noting that “be’ah” has entered into multiple agreements with various clients and partners to ensure environmental protection against pollution, in line with the regulations and environmental laws in Oman. The company has also developed an online Manifest system, which obliges companies wishing to dispose of industrial and hazardous waste from their operational activities to properly package and label the waste for safe transportation to “be’ah’s” industrial and hazardous waste treatment facility. The company has established terms and conditions for companies interested in transporting hazardous waste, which must be met through registration on their website to be approved for hazardous waste transportation.
