Construction cost index in West Bank down in September, says statistics bureau

RAMALLAH, The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for residential buildings in the West Bank decreased by 0.20% during September compared with August, today said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

At the level of major groups, the price of raw materials decreased by 0.56%, and the prices of rental of equipment slightly decreased by 0.03%, While, the price of labor costs and wages increased by 0.32%.

The CCI for non-residential buildings in the West Bank also decreased by 0.23% during September compared with August due to a decrease in the price of raw materials by 0.59%, and the prices of rental of equipment by 0.08%. The price of labor costs and wages increased by 0.32%.

The CCI for skeleton buildings in the West Bank decreased as well by 0.48% during September compared with August due to a decrease in the price of raw materials by 1.00%, and the price of rental of equipment by 0.03%, while, the prices of labor costs and wages increased by 0.50%.

The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) in the West Bank increased by 0.10% during September compared with August due to an increase in the price of operating costs of equipment and maintenance by 1.00%, the price of labor costs and wages by 0.57%, and the price of raw material by 0.02%, while the prices of rental of equipment slightly decreased by 0.06%.

The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) in the West Bank decreased by 0.31% during September compared with August, Water Reservoirs Cost Index decreased by 0.87%, and Water Networks Cost Index decreased by 0.08%, while the overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) decreased by 0.23%.
