India, Netherlands, S. Africa, Uruguay Lead Women’s Group Round in Hockey5s World Cup


The women’s group round of the FIH Hockey5s World Cup (Oman 2024) concluded today, with the teams of India, the Netherlands, South Africa and Uruguay emerging winners.

The results of some of today’s matches, played at Oman Hockey Stadium, were as follows:

In the first match Australia beat Zambia 3/2. In the second match South Africa achieved its third victory in a row by defeating Ukraine 6/2. In the third match, the Netherlands won its match against Oman with a big margin of 21 to 1. The fourth match, brought together the teams of Fiji and Malaysia teams, ended in a 4/4 draw.

In the fifth match, New Zealand defeated Paraguay 2/1. In the 6th match, Uruguay beat Thailand 11/1. Poland defeated the United States 5/1.

More matches will be played today to decide the winners of other places until the 18th position.

The championship sees the participation of 16 teams from around the world. They are the teams of the Netherlands, Malaysia, Fiji, the Sultanate of Oman, Australia, South Africa, Zambia, Ukraine, In
