Muscat: The Ministry of Information, through its Government Communication Centre, has unveiled a strategic plan for the Government Communication System, set to span 2025-2027. The initiative aims to bolster transparency and public interaction by aligning with international communication and media standards.
According to Oman News Agency, the Ministry detailed a comprehensive plan during a meeting, which includes various initiatives to streamline communication between government entities and the public. Zamzam Hamad Al Hana’i, Director of the Media and Integration Department at the Center, presented the plan, which is anchored on three core pillars: empowerment, integration, and proactive communication.
The empowerment pillar focuses on enhancing resource efficiency in communication and media departments across government institutions, enabling them to fulfill their roles effectively. The integration and coordination pillar aims to foster harmony among system stakeholders to achieve a unified discourse. Proa
ctive communication seeks to build trust in mainstream media by making government priorities and achievements more transparent and accessible to the public.
The Ministry’s plan is designed to boost the efficiency, consistency, and harmony of media messages, highlighting government activities while establishing a standardized approach to media efforts. This approach intends to raise public awareness about government actions, promote positive interactions with government institutions, and enable the government to effectively communicate its visions and aspirations.
The plan is anticipated to lead to organized and comprehensive government communication, fostering consistent messaging within a unified framework and ensuring continuous media engagement that meets the cognitive needs of society.
