Injuries as Israeli settlers attack olive-harvesters east of Hebron

HEBRON, Hardcore Israeli settlers today attacked Palestinian olive-harvesters and farmers to the east of Hebron in the south of the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.

 

Shaker Tamimi, a local Palestinian farmer, told WAFA that a group of Israeli settlers, guarded by army, from the nearby illegal Israeli settlement of Havat Gal attacked Palestinian farmers and international activists helping them while working in their lands on the eastern outskirts of the city. He said hi9s family members and he sustained minor injuries as a result of the attack.

 

Settlers regularly attack Palestinian farmers during the annual olive harvest season and sometimes steal their crops or prevent them from reaching their lands, in addition to destroying or cutting down olive trees.

 

The olive harvest season is considered the most important for thousands of Palestinian families in the Israeli-occupied territories due to its contribution to the families’ income bracket.
