Newspaper Review: Israeli violations focus of dailies

News about the ongoing daily violations by the Israeli forces and settlers in several areas in the occupied West Bank hit the front page of the three Palestinian Arabic dailies published today.

Al-Hayat al-Jadida, al-Quds and al-Ayyam said that two Palestinian residents of Masafer Yatta in the south of the West Bank received demolition orders against their homes. The Israeli army claimed the homes were built without a permit.

The papers also reported that settlers, protected by soldiers, attacked Urif high school in the village of Urif, south of Nablus, throwing rocks at the school, damaging solar panels as soldiers also fired tear gas canisters at it causing many suffocation cases.

Al-Hayat al-Jadida said that President Mahmoud Abbas received an Ooredoo Group delegation from Qatar in the presidential headquarters in the city of Ramallah.

It said two Palestinian administrative detainees in Israel remain on hunger strike demanding their release. Khalil Awawdeh, 40, has been on hunger strike for 89 days yesterday, and Raed Rayyan, 27, was on hunger strike for 54 days yesterday.

Al-Quds said that the Israeli authorities seized about 54 dunums of land in al-Tur neighborhood of occupied East Jerusalem.
