Oman Engages in Global Anti-Corruption Conference in Qatar

Doha: The Sultanate of Oman, through its State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority, is actively participating in the 11th Session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption. The event is being hosted by Qatar's Administrative Control and Transparency Authority from December 15 to 19, 2025.

According to Oman News Agency, the Omani delegation is led by Sheikh Ghuson bin Hilal Al Alawi, Chairman of the State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority, alongside several officials and specialists from the Authority. The conference includes significant international participation from leaders of anti-corruption agencies, international organizations, and academic institutions.

The conference serves as a pivotal event for addressing corruption and fostering integrity globally, involving all 192 signatory states to the United Nations Convention against Corruption. Sheikh Ghuson bin Hilal Al Alawi emphasized Oman's commitment to collaborating with the international community to promote integrity and combat corruption, aligning with Oman's Vision 2040.

The Chairman highlighted Oman's efforts since joining the Convention in 2013, focusing on preventing and combating corruption and establishing accountability in public fund management. The launch of the National Integrity Promotion Plan 2022-2030 exemplifies these efforts, aiming to unify government, private sector, and civil society efforts in legislative development, institutional integration, societal awareness, and international cooperation.

The conference agenda includes reviewing the implementation of the Convention, discussing the review mechanisms, and evaluating the outcomes of the General Assembly's Special Session on corruption. The Omani delegation is set to present a paper on their National Integrity Promotion Plan and its impact on fostering integrity and combating corruption during a joint side event.
