Cairo: Jamal Salim Al Nabhani, Director of the Legislation Department at the Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs, member of the Oman Human Rights Commission, and Chairman of the Committee on Public Rights and Freedoms in the Commission, has been elected as a member of the Arab Charter on Human Rights’ Committee of the Arab League for a period of four consecutive years. Al Nabhani’s election took place in Cairo, Egypt, during a meeting of states that are party to the Arab Charter on Human Rights.
According to Oman News Agency, the meeting was dedicated to electing four independent Arab experts to fill vacant seats on the committee’s membership, following the expiration of the terms of four of the panel’s previous members. The election process was conducted under the direct supervision of the Secretariat-General of the Arab League.
