HM The Sultan Commences State Visit to Netherlands


Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik departed today for the Kingdom of the Netherlands on a state visit set to last three days.



According to Oman News Agency, the visit is in response to an invitation from King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands. The primary objective of this visit is to bolster economic cooperation between Oman and the Netherlands. Key areas of focus include ports, logistics, maritime trade, chemical industries, renewable energy, agriculture, and food security. Cultural and academic collaboration are also on the agenda.



His Majesty was seen off at the Royal Airport by several high-ranking officials, including HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, and HH Sayyid Asa’ad bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan. Other notable figures present were Sheikh Abdulmalik bin Abdullah Al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council, and Khalid bin Hilal Al Ma’awali, Chairman of the Shura Council, among others.



Accompanying His Majesty is a high-ranking official delegation. This delegation includes HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, and Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office. Additional members are Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, Dr. Hamad bin Said Al Aufi, Head of the Private Office, and Dr. Madeeha bint Ahmed Al Shaibani, Minister of Education, among others.



The visit underscores the commitment of both nations to explore and enhance bilateral relations, aiming for further achievements in economic and cultural domains.
