A Palestinian resident of occupied East Jerusalem was forced by the Israeli municipality of West Jerusalem to demolish his own home under the pretext it was built without a permit, according to the house owner.

Harbi Rajabi said municipality staff broke into his home in Beit Hanina neighborhood, north of the city, and ordered him to start immediately tearing down his 100-square-meter home.

He said that he was forced to start tearing it down otherwise he would have to pay high costs if the municipality staff demolishes it.

Rajabi has seven children, who, along with their parents, have become homeless
