Tuesday, police arrested a person sentenced in absentia to 10 years imprisonment with hard labor on charges of possession and drug use in Qalqilya Governorate.

The Public Relations and Media Department of the Police stated that, based on information available to the Judicial Police Branch of the Qalqilya Governorate Police, about the presence of a wanted person for 9 years in one of the places in the governorate, immediately a force from the Judicial Police, with the support of the guard police, moved to the place and arrested him, and it was found that he was convicted. He was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment with hard labor in absentia, and 5 detention orders were also issued against him.

She added that the wanted person was detained in order to complete the legal procedures against him in due course
