RENEWED BATTLES IN KHARTOUM NORTH, FOREIGN MINISTRY ANNOUNCES CONDITIONS FOR RETURNING TO NEGOTIATIONS

The Sudanese army escalated its attacks on Rapid Support sites in Khartoum, using its heavy artillery weapon from its command headquarters towards their deployment points in the Burri suburb, Al-Shati neighborhood and Al-Safa, east of the capital, according to “Russia Today” news agency. In the south of Khartoum, the two sides exchanged heavy fire in the Sahafa area, in a new escalation of fighting near the areas and neighborhoods adjacent to the army’s armored corps. Eyewitnesses said, “The Rapid Support Forces targeted with mortar shells the neighborhoods of Al-Droshab and Al-Kadro, northeast of the Halfaya Bridge, north of the city of Khartoum North, where thick columns of smoke rose from the city of Khartoum North, near the perimeter of the industrial area and the Kober neighborhood.” On the political level, the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in official statements to the Sudan News Agency, “The exit of Rapid Support from civilian homes is a prerequisite for returning to negotiations again.”
