Security services spokesperson: Security establishment stand united in face of settler rampage

NABLUS, The Spokesperson for the Security Services Talal Dweikat today stated that the security establishment stands united in the face of Israeli settler rampage across the occupied West Bank.

During a meeting in the West Bank city of Nablus, Dweikat said that the establishment affirms that it stands united in the face of the unabated construction of colonial settlements and the unchecked rampage by settlers against the unprotected Palestinian civilian population.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Security Forces Brigadier General Ismail Jabr, the Minister of Interior Major General Ziad Hab al-Rih, the Governor of Nablus Major General Ibrahim Ramadan in  addition to leaders of the various branches of the establishment.

The attendees reviewed the conditions experienced by the occupied territories in general, and Nablus governorate in particular, following a sharp uptick of settler attacks against the Palestinian people, while calling on the members of the security services to partake in the olive harvest season and ensure the protection of Palestinian farmers against settler attacks during the season.

They called on the international community to take urgent action, break the suspicious silence and exert pressure on the Israeli government to rein the settlers before the situation worsens even further and plunge into chaos with consequences affecting everyone.

They also stressed the need to take measures to preserve civic peace and avoid being a part of any foreign agenda aimed at undermining security and the social fabric, while stressing that the social fabric is the genuine guarantee for security, stability, development as well as the need to stand united against all conspiracies hatched against the Palestinian national project and align with the legitimate leadership, headed by President Mahmoud Abbas, in its long-standing quest for the full realization of the Palestinian people’s inalienable rights, including the right to self-determination, ending the occupation, establishment of an independent State of Palestine and sovereignty over natural resources.
