Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has issued a Royal Decree aimed at restructuring the country's medical administrative framework.
According to Oman News Agency, Royal Decree No. 51/2025 mandates the transfer of the Directorate General of Medical Services from the Diwan of Royal Court to the Ministry of Health. Article (1) of the decree outlines this transfer, signifying a significant shift in the management of medical services.
Article (2) specifies that all allocations, rights, obligations, and assets associated with the Directorate General of Medical Services will be transferred to the Ministry of Health. This move is expected to streamline operations and enhance the integration of medical services within the Ministry.
Furthermore, Article (3) of the decree states that all employees, including medical, paramedical, and other personnel of the Directorate General, will be transferred to the Ministry of Health. Their job status, grades, and financial allocations will remain intact, ensuring a smooth transition for the affected staff.
Article (4) concludes that the decree will be published in the Official Gazette and will be effective from the date of its issuance, marking an important step in the ongoing development of the nation's healthcare system.
