Entrepreneurship Forum in Fifth Generation Agriculture Issues Recommendation

Muscat: The Entrepreneurship Forum in Fifth Generation Agriculture concluded its proceedings today by issuing a number of recommendations aimed at supporting digital transformation in the agricultural sector.

According to Oman News Agency, key recommendations included establishing an Arab Center for Agricultural Data and creating a digital platform for agricultural extension. The forum emphasized enhancing the agricultural entrepreneurship ecosystem through innovative initiatives and enabling entrepreneurs to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) and drone technologies in developing agricultural projects.

The forum called for expanding investment in smart agricultural technologies and launching projects based on AI and drones. It also recommended developing Arab platforms to attract venture capital funding and creating an Arab digital marketplace for agricultural solutions and applications.

Furthermore, the forum recommended organizing joint Arab training programs, establishing an Arab cell for exchanging expertise and transferring agricultural technology, and initiating specialized research work to characterize the spectral footprint of palm pests and strategic crops.

The forum affirmed the importance of adopting new initiatives to support entrepreneurs, including the 'Ghars' initiative for agricultural entrepreneurship and the 'Leenah' initiative targeting women's entrepreneurship, while benefiting from the Arab Network for Agricultural Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

The five-day forum featured the participation of an elite group of experts, entrepreneurs, and researchers in smart agricultural technologies, serving as a platform to showcase the latest practices and innovations in digital agriculture.
