Muscat: US oil prices surged about three percent in early trading today, extending gains from the previous session, after the US military launched a series of strikes on Iran, reigniting concerns that the fragile truce could collapse. West Texas Intermediate crude climbed $1.95, or 2.8 percent, to $72.39 a barrel.
According to Oman News Agency, WTI had already gained 2.8 percent at settlement before extending its advance in post-settlement trading, after Washington revoked a general licence that had allowed the sale of Iranian crude.
