The meeting will be chaired by Chairman of Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development Nasser Ahmed Al Suwaidi in presence of senior officials and representatives of Japanese corporations.
A memorandum of understanding will be signed by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development and Japan Cooperation Center for the Middle East (JCCME), a non-profit organization tasked with promoting Japan’s economic relations with the Middle East.
Through its Abu Dhabi-Japan Business Promotion Initiative, the body provides full support to Japanese companies willing to invest in Abu Dhabi.
AJEC’s Tuesday meeting will discuss business opportunities in Abu Dhabi, trends and progress of policies drawn up for attracting foreign investment.
The first AJEC meeting and the Abu Dhabi Investment Forum in February 2012 took place in the Japanese capital.
Trade between the UAE and Japan reached US$23.8 billion in the first six months of 2011.
In 2011, up to the end of October, Japan’s imports from the UAE stood at US$35.4 billion, while its exports to the UAE, for the same period in 2011, reached US$6 billion.
