Abu Dhabi: UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and Global Aerospace Logistics (GAL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for training national candidates working in the local Civil Aviation industry.
The MoU was signed by Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of GCAA, and Dr. Hassan Youssef Mohammed Al Awadi, CEO of Global Aerospace Logistics at the Sheikh Zayed Air Navigation Center in Abu Dhabi.
Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi on the occasion said: “The signing of this MoU reflects the determination of the GCAA and GAL to support the training of local candidates specialized in the field of civil aviation in order to keep up with rapidly advancing civil aviation industry.” He added: “GCAA and GAL will provide technical training for specialized programs held inside and outside the country for qualified Emirati applicants”.
This MoU will lead to the creation of new internships dedicated for both male and female Emirati’s to encourage aspiring aviators to follow their career aspirations.
The MoU, amongst other things, will see support being provided by the GCAA in the form of a formal selection process and approval of a unique training program designed to enhance the levels knowledge and skills acquired by the selected candidates.
Additionally, Global Aerospace Logistics will offer six international training programs held outside UAE for selected candidates. The Program is planned to officially be started this year 2012 until 2015.
