Caretaker Justice Minister, Judge Henri Khoury, on Wednesday continued Europe tour with an accompanying delegation.

Khoury arrived in The Hague yesterday, where he met with the President of the International Court of Justice, Judge Nawaf Salam, to discuss judicial and national affairs, as well as the progress and aspirations for comprehensive justice. The minister, along with the accompanying delegation, then toured the court premises.

In addition to The Hague, Minister Khoury held a meeting with the President of Eurojust, Slovak Judge Ladislav Hamran, and some prosecutors there. Representatives from the European Commission also attended. The minister was briefed on Eurojust’s operations, data protection principles, and information handling. The meeting was highly constructive regarding the cooperation between Lebanon and Eurojust, with an agreement to maintain communication and coordination.

Following this, Minister Khoury and the accompanying delegation met with President of the Dutch Data Protection Aut

It’s worth noting that the final stop for the Justice Minister and the delegation will be the European Commission in Belgium, where they will meet with directors of justice and neighborhood policy to explore avenues for cooperation with the Lebanese Ministry of Justice.
