Military: Sounds of Explosions Linked to Interceptions Outside Borders

Amman: The Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army announced on Tuesday that no missiles or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were intercepted over Jordanian territory in the past 24 hours. They clarified that the sounds of explosions heard in the sky and debris falling in border areas were due to interception operations conducted beyond the Kingdom's borders.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Military Media Directorate, in collaboration with the Public Security Directorate, confirmed that the Kingdom's airspace and territory were not directly targeted during the reporting period. The joint statement was issued to address public concerns following the recent incidents.

The Public Security Directorate spokesperson elaborated that specialized teams from both the Armed Forces and Public Security had been actively responding to incidents involving falling debris and projectiles over the past 24 hours. The spokesperson highlighted that authorities handled eight such incidents, which included an injury in the Aqaba Governorate. The injured individual received immediate medical assistance on-site and is reported to be in good condition.

Furthermore, the incidents resulted in limited material damage in the Aqaba and Karak governorates. The spokesperson reassured the public that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure safety and prevent any escalation of similar events in the future.
