Present were Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, the Speaker of Federal National Council, H. H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Eastern Region, H. H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, H. H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works, a number of Sheikhs and senior officials.
Sheikh Mohammed welcomed the British delegation, whose visit coincides with the UAE celebrations of the 41st national day anniversary, stressing keenness of the UAE led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on enhancing the distinguished and historic ties with Britain in all fields.
He said the exchange of visits would enable the members of parliament in both countries to contribute effectively to bolstering the relations between the two peoples, and understanding the history, nature and the methods of political participation that are suitable to the local communities.
The Abu Dhabi Crown Prince hoped the parliamentarian relations would keep pace with the development of political, economic and cultural relations between the two countries.
The two sides discussed the cooperation ties and ways to strengthen them. They also tackled the issues of mutual interest.
For their part, the British MPs expressed their pleasure about visiting the UAE and assessing closely the huge progress being experienced by the UAE in all fields.
