New coronavirus cases on the rise in Palestine as inoculation of the population continues

RAMALLAH, The new cases of coronavirus in Palestine continued to rise today as inoculation of the population continues at full pace with over 80,000 people vaccinated in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Today’s figures showed that 20 people have died of the disease in Palestine in the last 24 hours, 2353 new cases were recorded, as 1956 patients have recovered, according to Minister of Health Mai Alkaila.

She said in her daily report on the pandemic that 1211 new coronavirus cases were recorded in the West Bank, 11 deaths, and 1530 patients recovered in the last 24 hours.

The Gaza Strip came second with 1081 new cases, a sharp rise in recent days, seven deaths, and 265 recovered.

East Jerusalem recorded only 61 new cases, two deaths and 161 recovered in two days.

Alkaila said 209 corona patients are getting treatment in intensive care units, among them 67 are on ventilators.

She also said that 60,029 people were vaccinated against the coronavirus in the West Bank so far and 23,793 people in the Gaza Strip.
