RAMALLAH, Palestine’s ambassador to Turkey, Fayed Mustafa, said that search operations are underway for the Palestinians who attempted to migrate to Greece and went missing after their boat capsized in the Aegean Sea.

He told Voice of Palestine radio that the embassy is following up on the search operations after the lifeless body of one Palestinian from Gaza was found at a Turkish beach. The embassy indicated its readiness to transfer the body to Gaza for burial.

He said eight Palestinians are currently being held at the Turkish Immigration Department awaiting a decision regarding deporting or allowing them to stay in Turkey.
