Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism signed a contract with Jibal Al Hajar Company to manage, operate, and optimize the use of Al Jalali Castle in the Wilayat of Muscat, Governorate of Muscat. The step forms part of efforts to enhance partnership with the private sector in managing and operating heritage sites.
According to Oman News Agency, the contract was signed by Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said Al Busaidi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Jibal Al Hajar Company. The initiative aims to maximize gains from cultural heritage as a source of economic revenue. Al Jalali Castle is a prominent historical landmark in the Governorate of Muscat, with its civilizational value stemming from Oman’s deep-rooted history and cultural legacy.
The project is set to contribute to the promotion of tourism by attracting visitors from Oman and abroad. This move is part of a broader strategy to empower the private sector and enhance its role in operating heritage sites in accordance with best practices.
