Trakhees E-Accreditation Program

WAM Dubai, Mar 20th, 2013 (WAM) — The Accreditation Section of the Civil Engineering Division- Department of Planning and Development – Trakhees, the Regulatory Arm of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone in Dubai has launched its e-Accreditation Program as a major step towards continuous upgrading aiming at facilitating clients’ electronic communication, thus saving time and effort in processing transactions.

Engineer Abdulla M. Belhoul, Director of Civil Engineering Division at Department of Planning and Development- Trakhees, emphasized the importance of constant development of services and consolidation of electronic application in the channels of communication with clients, in order to meet the aspirations of the organization aiming at achieving excellence in the dissemination of technical engineering knowledge and contributing to the development of the local community through commitment to standards of excellence and quality in the provision of all services. The Department of Planning and Development- Trakhees also seeks to enhance mutual cooperation with other government bodies and various academic institutions to support the common goals in the development of human resources across various fields.

The e-Accreditation Program is comprised of selected references of rules and regulations, specifications and basic rules related to engineering planning and design, preparation of field sites and building standards, construction site management, quality control standards for materials used, as well as details of the procedures and channels through which consultants, contractors and developers communicate with the Department of Planning and Development- Trakhees to obtain service-related permits.

Thus, those who are subject to the Accreditation Program are all the engineers undertaking design work or site supervision of all projects that are located within the areas of development, which fall under the powers of Trakhees as a prerequisite for dealing with projects within those areas.

In addition, all clients of other than the previous categories desiring and interested in familiarizing themselves with these rules and regulations may register in the Program to obtain a certificate of completion of the Accreditation Program in various engineering disciplines, which represents a significant addition to all those interested in building and construction activities in general.
